What sets me apart
I thrive on tackling complex challenges and specialize in large-scale, cross-platform design strategies that drive impactful outcomes.
With a business background and over 6 years in UX design at a growing SaaS company, I balance exceptional user experiences with a focus on the bottom line. A phrase from my NN/g certification that resonates with me is, 'When I see UX, I see money.' I believe that well-crafted UX is not just right for users but crucial for business success.
My expertise spans UI/UX design for mobile and web, from research to prototyping, fueled by curiosity and a drive to stay ahead of trends.
My design principles
👂
Seek first to understand
Understand the problem and why something is the way it is first.
I want to fully understand what is needed, and what success will look like for a project, before I start designing solutions. I also want to better understand why things are the way they are before suggesting changes.
🧩
Explore many different paths
There is always another way to look at a problem.
One of the worst mistakes I see other designers make is only pursuing one or two solutions to a problem. I am a big proponent of exploring multiple potential solutions before committing to a design path.
🤝
Collaborating with others is key
One person can't possibly know all the answers.
I believe working with others is critical to a successful design project. Whether that is engineers, or product management, or even another designer, I welcome and encourage other perspectives.
🎤
Designers are influencers
Building products is hard -- but it's even harder without design.
I am an advocate for thoughtfully designed products and involving UX design early and often. I recognize that every organization is at a different level of design maturity, but that designers can and should be advocates for good design no matter what.
📣
Represent the voice of the user
We should never forget that we are not our users.
As UX and product designers our focus should always be on the needs of our users. We should be the people that are solving problems from the perspective of what users are actually looking for. We are advocates for and guardians of our users' needs.
🍃
Be flexible and adaptable
Things will always change in the process of building software.
Being able to adapt and change course is the name of the game as a product designer. I've watched as projects have gotten halted, or new requirements are defined, and there is no sense in getting upset - you just have to go with the flow!
A woman of many facets
As a naturally curious person, I have a number of diverse passions, hobbies, and interests outside of work. Dog mom. Bagpiper. World traveler. Try-er. Do-er.
